I know award shows are fun but don't put much meaning into the awards themselves. Especially the Emmys The Emmy nomination process is completely insane I'm happy for actors and creators I like when they get recognized, but it really isn't saying anything at all.
Happy for Aziz/Master of None, Mr. Robot, Fargo, Silicon Valley, People vs. OJ, Ellie Kemper. Looks like Orange is the New Black got shut out but perhaps because season 3 was mediocre.
I'm straight up stunned by some of these nominations. The Americans! Middleditch! Louie Anderson! Matt Walsh! I haven't even looked through them all yet!
The Americans finally getting the love it deserves. I can't understand how Downton Abbey is still taking up nomination slots though.
I'm happy with most of these, only thing i'm really disappointing in is Christian Slater not being nominated for Best Supporting Actor - Drama.
Although I don't think he deserves an Emmy this year, it is kind of weird to not see Colbert nominated for Variety - Talk.
YESSSSS steven universe got one for "the answer" also the crazy ex girlfriend song that got it was for "settle for me", good choice.
Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series is SO STACKED. Louie Anderson (probably my favorite character on TV last year), Tituss Burgess, Tony Hale, Matt Walsh...so tough. I also still don't understand why Amazon submits Transparent for comedy. It's so much more of a drama.
WAIT A GOD DAMN MINUTE. The Leftovers didnt get a single nomination???? How is that even possible? When the season ended all the critics were saying were how they were gonna snag the best actor, actress, supporting actor and actress categories. How do you seriously not give Regina King or Carrie Coon a nomination?
