    The organizer of Malaysia’s Good Vibes Festival has filed a lawsuit against the 1975 and all its members individually following frontman Matty Healy’s protest against the country’s anti-LGBTQ laws during the event last July. The festival is seeking £1.9 million ($2.4 million) after the band’s antics resulted in the festival being shut down.

    In court documents filed by festival organizers Future Sound Asia in the U.K. High Court, they claim that the 1975 and their management team were aware of the numerous prohibitions the band had to abide by in order to perform.

    Technically, they DID violate their contract but, on the other hand (and more importantly), shit like this won't ever change unless people defy it so still...props to them for the actions.

    This is what really bothers me, if you have traveled the world, this is actually the NORM in a lot of places. For my work I have gone to over 30 countries across the globe and I cringe when people say how oppressed they are in the US, its simply not true but unless you have perspective you would never know. Are we perfect, hello not but do yourself a favor and visit some of these countries and your life in the US will seem pretty good. Also before people pile on me no, I am not white and my parents are immigrants to the US.
