I only became an actual fan instead of just a casual listener when ABI came out but I genuinely believe It's Not Living is their best song
A Brief Inquiry is easily my favorite of theirs & imo has perfect sequencing. And, I enjoy every track, never wanna skip any when giving it a proper listen through (which I don't do as much w/ albums w/ my casual listening these days, which further emphasizes my love of A Brief Inquiry). Gonna be an easy top 5 (at least) album of the decade if I attempt such a list for sure.
Also, like, I still listen to the robot track that y'all were writing off when the album dropped; not even my least listened track on there.
So Notes is going to have incredible flow, some stretches people think are boring, its going to be perfect, and half of us are going to be apathetic about a quarter of it. just mentally prepping myself for Feb
I love their minimalist instrumental stuff. So much so that I tried my hardest to sequence the EPs and “Medicine” together as an album. It’s probably my favorite thing the band has done just because they do it so well. At this point though they’re so versatile they could put on any genre hat and pull it off well. I can’t wait to see what the next single from Notes will sound like
and I still stand by the fact that the "content" and delivery of the robot song brings together the overarching theme of the album. the album wouldn't have nearly the same impact if it wasn't there
Robot is one of very few instances where Matty’s pretentiousness comes across poorly and not charming like usual. It just kinda makes me cringe a bit.
I bet they're playing some holiday shows in the states hoping for another track would be lit prob too soon tho
