She Lays Down is an underdog top 5 song from them for me. But my mom also died this year and it makes me think about that so maybe I am biased.
I absolutely believe that the live rendition should’ve been the studio version, and would have jumpstarted the sonic adventure of the second half much better. Honestly one of the largest missteps of their entire discography, as much as I love it. And lyrically it’s extremely trite
Except the The Man Who Loved A Robot kinda disrupts the flow imoooooooo. Once I’d heard it for the first time I didn’t need to hear it again. Also I don’t like Inside Your Mind. Or Mine. Lol
ABI’s flow is so much easier to listen to than iliwys. Agree with wishing Be My Mistake sounded different on record.
Couldn’t agree more with this. For me, there’s this huge instrumental lull in the middle for me, which usually ends up in me having to skip Please Be Naked and Lost My Head. Sometimes also the title track, despite adoring the first half of it.
ILIWYS is so much more cohesive than ABI to me that I can’t wrap my head around thinking ABI flows better
ABI feels much more cohesive than ILIWijioasgno to me, @RyanRyan speaks to a lot of how I feel about it
Cause it’s kind of a drag. Nah, I don’t need to be that harsh. It just never connected to me. I skip right to Somebody Else.
I'm so excited they announced a Chicago show in December. Didn't think I would be able to see them again this year.
The songs on iliwys... that I skip, while we're airing unpopular opinions, are Love Me and UGH!, they kind of stand out vibe-wise from the rest of the album imo
I mean, Please Be Naked into Lost My Head which is heavily instrumental (never said it was solely instrumental) and then Ballad, which the first what ~minute or so is instrumental...then after two songs the title track is also primarily an instrumental. It drags for me personally. *reactionary friends gif* Also while I’m at it I don’t like the drums on Lost My Head. They could sound a lot less...sampled if that makes sense? Less produced? Idk the wording for it. If they just sounded rawer it’d would drastically improve my enjoyment of that song.
