I mean, I am. Involuntarily and voluntarily at once. I’m actually watching Big Brother with my fiancé and Frenchie lol it doesn’t change how I (or she) feels.
Just some general inquiries: 1. Is that a common value/ ideal people are raised to believe/live by? 2. Do they stand by their promises/statements more than not? 3. Are people ultimately in control of how they feel - entitled or otherwise? 4. As an ardent supporter/monetarily or otherwise of the band, should I not have some stake/the right of opinion in their operation in general even if said opinion has no bearing on said operation? We all can’t possibly be apologetic fanboys all of the time.
I feel like this band is so big and so busy that if they don’t meet the ambitious release date that they set, I won’t be disappointed. I can’t imagine all the work (physical and mental effort) it takes to tour and then make this new album. I think to be disappointed in them for this is a little unfair.
it's always funny when you read someone's posts and think to yourself "wow, this person seems annoying" but nobody else says anything about it so you think you're the only one who finds them annoying and then one day one brave soul comes along and calls them out on their shit and suddenly everybody else comes out of the woodwork
I think it’s fair of you to argue that, absolutely. I just would have kept my effing mouth shut if you don’t want people to think you are full of bullshit. Having said that, it being Fair or unfair - how I feel is ultimately how I feel and it has no bearing on them as artists or human beings either way. Im confident Matty and their other fans will endure.
You must be new around here lol....say not been around for 12-15 years or so. You: answer the questions!
My word is my bond? Really!? Odd. So if 4 is a no: at what point does a fan/supporter have stake/right to opinion regarding an artist/their operation?
Artists change release dates a lot. Young Thug, Brand New...it happens. I wouldn’t call that “full of bullshit.”
So what do you generally call things that aren’t necessarily true. I adore that you cited young thug by the by. Jesse is also a frontman full of shit - totally on board with that.
It depends on the situation. If something isn’t true, it doesn’t mean it’s automatically “full of shit”. What point are you trying to make here? That you’re entitled because you put part of your life into the band and are disappointed?
Noob lol. I’m just saying this isn’t a new thing. The status quo and I have never agreed - especially in the AP world.
Yeah, honestly I think that’s enough. I mean the ingrate answer is just: this is how I feel so get fucked, but I’d like to make it a conversation at least. I think the questions are at least worth considering, so thanks for giving it a go.
Interesting way to feel. Fair enough. We weren’t going to agree on the matter either way. Doesn’t make what I said satire.
Having an opinion and that opinion being ridiculous are two different things. Someone can have an opinion and the rest of us think it’s very stupid for various reasons. A band that’s more open than most sharing thoughts and ideas and sometimes those change and shift is more real than most of the plastic stuff we get from artists, and more modern and forward thinking than most musicians have been in my lifetime .. so I think complaining about basic changes every artist has, because a band communicates and wants to let people know the current thoughts is so silly. Shit changes. Anyone that’s ever had any job or plan ever knows that. Getting mad about it is laughable. (And the “just talking” is incredible. And you know when the single is probably coming since there’s a literal countdown.)
Im excited to see the new stage layouts for all of the new songs. I wonder how drastically the setlist will change next year with 22 tracks. Possibilities are pretty vast.
