More like Anthony Kiedis on the Tok. Both are super cringy to think about though.

 

This band is cool but the absurdly loud snare drum in all of their songs is very hard to get over.

since we like to talk about 1975 soundalikes, here's one I dig

 

I just listened to Pet Shop Boys’ 1990 album Behaviour for the first time today and holy cow is it great. I think a lot of 1975 fans will like the synth textures and bass/drum arrangements, definitely seems like an influence on the band’s more electronic rock work.

 

Man, Matty has been on a real fashion bent lately, haha

 

This AM I listened to Brief Inquiry and then I Like It When You Sleep. Now Notes. Wasn’t really planning that it just happened lol.

Some thoughts though.

During Inquiry I was like “I think this is my favorite now but barely over Sleep.”

Then during Sleep - “okay they’re tied”

Now on Notes I’m just thinking that there is a damn good album in here, and had they cut about 20 mins and marketed a little better it would be right up there with the others. Some absolute bangers on this thing.

 

I think Notes has some of their biggest highs, it's just too bloated as a whole. But I also think that about 3/4 of their records.

 

I know this will be blasphemous but I've decided I don't really like Roadkill

 

I think this one is much more 1975 than the last one

 

Honestly People is the worst thing on here.

The rapping on Everything Denied is cool

People sticks out like a sore thumb on the album, but it's a good song

People fucking rips. I agree it's a little awkwardly sequenced... but that's the point, right? WAKE UP WAKE UP etc.

 

Did not realize it’s the 5th anniversary of ILIWYS

 

I would give a lot of things to have my life be as simple as it was when that album came out.

One of my all-time favs.

 

People is great but yeah its placement makes no sense to me lol

 

Let me rephrase I like People but not on a 22 song pop record

 

it's not like the album really stays in one lane after People.
