It had been bugging me all week that the opening of "Having No Head" reminded me of something and it finally clicked. Am I crazy?
For those curious, billboard estimates sales around 45,000 for this. Official numbers tend to be released on Sunday.
one year ago today @Larry David and i saw them with no rome and the japanese house and it was fantastic! we were supposed to see them again next wednesday but obviously that's not happening
yeah that was one of the best shows i've ever been to and i can't wait to be able to see them again someday so my girlfriend can experience it as well
And this man right here, is the reason I was even able to go to the show last year!!!! Dude, I can't wait till we can see them again...I owe you like 7 beers.
the more i listen to this and fall in love with it, the more i wish i could allow myself to spend the money on the vinyl
It’s hard to know anymore. Rock bands typically sell more physical copies relative to streams, but every other genres are pretty much just streaming at this point.
Yeah, streaming helps TONS of artists, it’s wild. There are albums hitting number one while selling so little physical copies. It’s wild. ABI sold about 66k, I believe. Debuted at #4. ILIWYS debuted at 1 with 99k I think? But that was probably when the hype was at its peak, I’d say.
true but the band released them and obviously wanted fans to listen. it's a super small gripe, but i think it's fair to consider how that strategy affects people's experience of the album.
Not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but I just found out Bagsy Not In Net samples Sailing by Christopher Cross... not a song (or artist) I was ever familiar with... Kinda funny, I was just out running errands with my mom, had the latter portion of the album playing and she actually told me... Bagsy comes on and she’s like “hey, wait a minute...” and sure enough... lol
