Man it’s so weird listening to the first couple eps now. They’re so good and Matty sounds so different lmao. He sounds younger now than he did then
too many pages to catch up on, so forgive me if this is redundant, but I’m not seeing enough love for I Think There’s Something You Should Know... it’s so freakin beautiful. the instrumental, the vocals + lyrics, that digital spazz out in the middle... just perfecto.
I went on a bike ride through the city (Toronto) last night around 10:30 and listened front to back. it was one of the best listening experiences I’ve ever had. took side streets down to the CN tower, it was so cinematic. also, the Greta track feels absolutely essential in setting the vibe of the the record... I can’t imagine ever skipping it when listening all the way through.
Not quite sure what to make of this record. But I do feel compelled to return to it often so far. That’s something.
I don’t hate the Greta track, but I kinda wish the record had a little more bite and political commentary to go along with it.
I think of it as an intro to People and it works very well. But even without People, it’s a great and important speech and the music is fine.
On the next record I was yell-but-not-scream matty (ala brain) and deep voice Matty (ala anti) no matter what or when
This album is becoming a breeze to listen to also. I feel it doesn’t drag at all. It’s so ducking good.
