Yeah, I can't unlink this album with my first listen in late November in my first apartment. I was hype to listen so I took my laptop into the bathroom with me and let Mine play as the shower ran and everything got all fogged up and I just stood there and smiled.

 

That slow vibrato in the sax in those first notes are just sublime

The piano on I Think There’s Something is the perfect tone. I’ve been trying to find that in my own recordings for a decade.

This immediately rivals ILIWYS for my favorite album of theirs. I’ve had so much fun listening to this all day. I don’t think it lacks cohesion and I personally like the sequencing a lot (I just think people shouldn’t be on here at all). So happy for them they did a great job

On my second listen now and I already like it more

 

Yeah the non singles took me a few days, but god damn there’s some great music in here

 

After my first listen I enjoyed the hell out of this. However I can definitely see the sequencing complaints. Also I actually love the sequencing on ABI. I know that’s unpopular.

Anyways I can’t wait to dive in more this weekend.

 

To be fair, I wasn't trying to say this is on par with those. It's not quite as all-time-great as I Like It When You Sleep..., actually. But the instinct is the same. I think every whim of a band this good ends up worth hearing. I don't hear the need for editing that you do. It's a little overly sprawling and messy, but I actually think it works and doesn't feel jumbled, which is basically how I feel about every great double album (which, let's face it, this is).

 

About 2/3rds through and enjoying it. I feel so relaxed listening to it

 

I love the opener and plan on listening to it every time.

I also listen to the one about the guy who's best friends with his computer, too, though.
