just the vibe I get! Bon Iver kinda made that style "popular" and "cool" again and I don't think a lot of the stuff 1975 do wouldn't exist without that song/album
“Beth/Rest” is the only song I like on that album. Oops, thought I was in the unpopular opinions thread, my bad.
Ok so I feel confident in saying that when the 2nd verse drops in I Think Theres Something You Should Know is probably my fav moment in any 1975 song.
you mean at like 1:30? this comment just made me realize there's like an entire 1min of just instrumental in the middle of the track, seems so seamless
Don't think there's ever been an album as widely & deeply adored as that one, by someone who I would consider myself generally a fan of, that I've been less engaged by than that one. Other than IWasaCamera & the rest of that Sun on the Sand crew, I think I was the only person on AbsolutePunk in 2011 who didn't like it, lol. At least I ended up really loving 22,AM, though the FE,FA nostalgia might make it my fav of his by a hair still? Depends on the day & what kinda music I'm more in the mood for.
I'm thinking "Frail State of Mind" is a top 3 song for me on this; such a new and fresh sound for the band, and the whole song just flows so well. The way he sings "frail state of mind" throughout the song is bliss
