the best albums are the ones that take time to appreciate fully imo (and i’ve always kinda been this way) but the way i’m used to consuming lately I don’t make a ton of time for them like I used to when I was younger/had fewer responsibilities
Maybe, I just think INL and Shy are so strikingly similar, there’s nothing else in their discography so similar to them. Before Shy I would have grouped it with Heart Out I think.
I’m listening to just the second half of this now and it’s a much better listen to me. Maybe I’ll just skip the first half entirely in future
ok starting discog listen "MONEY" has always been kind of a ridiculous song but lord I love it so much. singing along to this part: Tabs with unlimited O's New clothes Bloody nose Powders and walking back home Has he got enough weed? No Broken phone Retching on the floor alone I can't believe that we're talking about him
I don’t really think Too Shy and INL are more similar than Too Shy and Heart Out are, really. it’s not living feels more, idk, springsteen and too shy feels more tears for fears and/or huey lewis to me. the biggest similarity they have for me is the very first few guitar notes and that they both have a pop song structure
I don’t know, they just sound so similar to me. I feel the Springsteen influence you mention in Too Shy too. I do love Too Shy, so don’t take this as a knock against it. It and What Should I Say are the songs on here I like most.
With regards to albums growing on me, a lot of my favourite albums have done that. BUT, I usually like them on first listen. Which, unfortunately didn’t happen with this.
The one thing I disagree with most detractors is that this album has plenty of hooks. Maybe not like the ones that are on the first album, but I think TBP, for instance, is very catchy in its own way.
This mindshower thing is wild. If there’s anyone into production here, they released the stems to a bunch of songs on it for download.
