I really want another guitar driven record from them, but I'm going to try to not get my hopes up for that

i'll also be really surprised if they actually follow through and release another full length next year

I am fine without a guitar driven record, they’ve already given us that

 

It’s coming next year, it won’t be guitar driven.

 

There’s plenty of guitar on ABI, just not in the same way as the s/t

Gökotta is an untranslatable Swedish word, which essentially means “to rise at dawn in order to go out and listen to the birds sing”

 

I want this album to be as not-guitar driven as possible, tbh. A full album of stuff like How To Draw, the title track of ILWYS, Menswear.... gimme that plz

This album cycle has really driven home that what I love about this band is not at all what the band or their fans like about them haha

An Inquiry... is fine, I don't love it but it has its moments. If Notes... continues this sound then I'm probably done with them. Which is okay

 

I feel completely the same about people who want them to stay in the self-titled lane. Had they went that route I probably would have never fully fallen in love with their music tbh, and given how much their music has meant to me and all the hard times it’s helped me through, I’m really glad that’s not the case. That’s not to say I think there’s anything wrong with moving on if it’s not for you, of course.

 

Put this out on a June 1st

I’m expecting something darker and moodier than ABIIOR, especially with the inclusion of 28. Buuuuut I’m sure they’ll shatter those expectations lol. I’m sure I’ll love whatever it is.

 

hey i know they're gonna subvert my expectations at every turn at this point, i'm just hoping there's some EP-esque stuff but i am down for whatever shape it takes

 

They’ve kinda already told us what to expect and described the sounds and influences.

 

There’s absolutely 0% chance of the 1975 to make a guitar focused album at this point. Matty has pretty much said so several times. Plus I feel like there’s plenty of guitar on the new album. Going back to that would really just limit the band at this point.

 

New album is pretty bass guitar heavy too. (Underrated part.)

 

Prolly gonna be some bops. Gonna hold off on the singles.

 

I am very excited.

 

With Matty calling this a night album I’m taking away from that, ABI is an album for daytime driving whilst NOAC is an album for night driving which brings together the ‘Music For Cars’ era?
