Just got done with Having No Head. Yeah, this is my favorite album of their’s since the self titled. Doesn’t feel bloated too me.
Actually, I just revised my tracklist: 1. Too Shy 2. Roadkill 3. Me and You 4. Then Because She Goes 5. What Should I Say JK. There really isn't any songs I straight up dislike.
"People" is my pre-gap hidden track. And I agree with you. I'm not going to actually cut up the album permanently right now. That tracklist I made is just my first stab "for fun" take on it. I've only listened to the album in full once, so yeah, I can't just start deleting tracks from my computer now. It would suck to actually snip off a song that I could potentially end up really liking after multiple listens. But yeah, I like making alternate tracklists of albums like this for fun... And to get you to react to it.
I don’t think there’s a bad track on this, but there’s a few that could have been left off and accomplished the same thing. And by a few, I mean maybe 2 or 3.
i'd say 3 or 4, but for sure. nothing is bad, but some of the song outros/interludes are pretty samey.
This is exactly how it feels to me. I thought the length of it would make it a slog to get through but it feels really loose. I don't really know how to describe it. George's production definitely gives a lot of the songs a dreamy quality, particularly the electronic-heavy stuff but the little touches on the acoustic songs really elevate them.
Streaming feels the most unnecessary to me at this point, especially since it fades into Birthday Party anyway. Could have been dropped or combined the way the intro to Too Shy is.
Roadkill is probably my favorite so far. Shouldn’t work, but it does. Gives me big Limbeck and Cassino vibes.
