my controversial take is that too shy is one of the most overrated 1975 songs to date :x

one of their few singles I'm just not that into and I couldn't tell ya why.

 

You’re right that other tracks may seem weirder or more out of place, but too shy being the lone kind of 80’s pop banger that we know is a layup for them is what makes me say that. Again, I really like that song and I’m glad we get to have it forever.

I've only heard People and Too Shy before today and what the fuck lmao. Idk what i expected from this album but this is wild

 

eh I think "Too Shy" fits in with the same through-line as, say, "Me and You Together Song," even if they're not doing exactly the same thing

 

On listen 2 now and putting The End after People was perfect. Like it throws you so far out there and then it is used to pull you back. Love it.

just finished my first play through. it's a long one... but it was nice to have as background music while i work. on first listen, there's a handful of songs i could do without, there's a handful of songs that just went in one ear and out the other or blended together. there's a few songs that i loved though. the ones i loved the most actually don't sound like typical 1975 so that's pretty cool. but yeah, i think i'll have to listen to it all again, pick out the songs i like, and then discard the others, like i've done with every other 1975 album since their debut, haha.
