I wouldn't put it that high but it's certainly up with my favorite songs they've done. it only gets better
I wouldn't have put it that high until today, lol. I've only listened to the full album twice and that song just hits me harder every time. I genuinely adore everything about it.
Alright kids. Divide this into 4-5 eps - I dare you. At least One “single” and instrumental on each. Drop Greta if you want.
I picture peter Gabriel singing instead of dad which makes me feel like he needs to do a duet with Pete.
This is definitely closer to Radiohead than ABIIOR was. Never understood the comparisons made when that album came out.
I also can’t ever picture myself listening to this album in full, or in order ever again. I’ll jump around based on mood.
Yea the skittering electronic production on this is way closer to Radiohead. “I Think There’s Something You Should Know” is an early standout for me.
I can't say for sure just shy of my first full listen of a new album, but right now... "Frail State" is 100% in the conversation for my favorite song the band's made. Maybe just below "Sincerity is Scary" & just above "Love It If We Made It"? My tastes clearly favor the current "Music for Cars" era, lol.
I'm nowhere close to being able to relate specific songs on here to specific past songs yet (haven't even been looking at track titles at all, lol), but I am ready to say this: The Greta intro is this album's robot song. It rules & will never be skipped by me, & people viewing it as disposable will forever blow my mind, lol.
For me right now it's just behind "Me" and "fallingforyou", just above "Change of Heart" and "Mine". I'm all about that soft and moody shit.
I'm fairly confident some of my least favorite 1975 songs are on this album, but after two listens I literally have no idea which ones they are. Early favorites are the "Roadkill" -> "Playing On My Mind" run.
