Dirty Hit's Jamie Oborne gives update about The 1975's new album The record is coming together. We’ve had this recording studio tour bus on the American tour which has been great for productivity…The boys have been constantly working. I can’t say exactly when it will come, there are a few elements coming together, but we will be releasing music before Reading.”
We will be lucky to get this album in December, lol. Would not be surprised at all if it was a 2020 release. If that’s the case, I’m entirely fine with them not rushing & compromising for the sake of the allotted release date, but this whole campaign was built around two albums in under a year.. so it will be interesting to see what happens.
Honestly would enjoy if they tried out country. Depending on how produced it is, Jesus Christ 2005 could be a country song as is.
Mike Skinner from 'The Streets' posted a Instagram story of Matt's hotel room studio setup a few months ago. Does anyone know if they are recording together? He also posted a video of Matt in the crowd at a streets show, so j guess they are quite close.
Kinda pedantic. I don’t like the acoustic version of what I heard because of the lyrics and delivery. It isn’t going to change that much. The lyrics will stay the same. The overall structure will stay the same. I don’t like it. EDIT: will *probably* stay the same.
There is literally no way for you to know that the lyrics and the overall structure will stay the same.
If it’s significantly different I’ll eat my hat. I sincerely doubt he’d choose to play that live then suddenly completely change it up. Yikes people, I’m allowed to not like a song. I’m sure the album will be excellent. I just don’t like this.
He tends to really change up his acoustic versions to the originals on some songs. See: Sex & Chocolate. That said; Jesus Christ did not stick with me as much as I'd hoped it would.
