This band has some really obvious imitators. There's a band called Midnight Endeavor who only has 4 songs out, and every single one of them sounds like a 1975 song. One of them is like Robbers to a T.
Honestly there’s a huge wave of bands that really caught onto what the band was doing during ILIWYS that hasn’t been replicated. I like a lot of those bands, but it’s really showing how prolific and influential the 1975 are. Hard to really deny it at this point
Have you guys seen that conspiracy theory that Spotify creates fake artists to generate stream revenue for themselves That band makes me think about that
I think the opposite - individuals create fake artists with throwaway tracks and farm listens for cash.
Interesting, I like Band Camino quite a bit but I’ve never made a connection in my head to them with The 1975. I’ve seen them live a few times as well and haven’t gotten those vibes either.

Definitely didn't mind the review. She didn't review it like some fangirl in awe of the band so I appreciate that. Good to know there are at least a couple of tracks to be excited for beyond the singles. I bet it's a fair assessment of the record at the end of the day.
It’s interesting how the reviews have mentioned the same songs. Not a lot of talk about Tonight (I Wish I Was Your Boy), Playing on My Mind, What Should I Say, Bagsy Not In Yet, Yeah I Know, and Then Because She Goes.
You ever get really excited about a song based on the title alone? Tonight (I Wish I Was Your Boy) is that song
