Officially got the email that my show was cancelled today :( Hope they do another American tour as soon as they can
I finally got an email from the venue the other day, but I'm surprised there still hasn't been an official message from the band (I know Jamie has commented on it, but nothing from any of the band channels).
Bummed that they released this track last...or put it at the end of the record...or recorded it at all lol
That first time I heard I Always Wanna Die (Sometimes) during my first play-through of the album... oof. I was a wreck. The first two albums have such a low-key ending that I was hoping this one would have a big finish, and that was a great surprise. It'll be weird having heard this one when I listen to the album in full for the first time. I already know it won't beat Always Wanna Die so I can make my peace with that up front. That long note at the end, I thought would lead nicely into whatever the beginning of this album was. I'm bummed that didn't materialize.
I Always Wanna Die has always been my least fav on that album. The first album closes with my least fav too. Then three of my top 5 are EP closers.
Is there somebody is literally my least favorite 1975 song, just doesn’t do anything interesting imo. Harrowing subject and emotional in theory but doesn’t connect. The denouement of ILIWYS is the best thing about that album
She Lays Down wrecks me every single time - but I grew up with a distant mom who abused alcohol until she passed from it a little over a year ago. I don't make it to the end of that album a lot - but I love that song and it will always be my favorite closer from them.
The orchestral ending of I Always Wanna Die, like the world is collapsing upon itself is always so cool, and leads into The 1975 (4) really well
