I’m gonna fake it till I make it. I called my buddy one the other day and he didn’t know wtf was going on
Lmao hearing my gf refer to things as bollocks and wank is my fav thing. Canadians and Americans can’t convey the same stinging delivery those terms usually do
I feel like I heard or read somewhere that part of the delay is they want to release If You’re Too Shy as the final *big* single to push alongside the album, and they wanted to do something special for its video but COVID fucked up the timeline on that. or I could just be making this up entirely lol.
I like to think of myself as pretty up to date on British slang given how much I am exposed to/love British media, but I've never heard weapon outside of Matty Can I start using it? If it helps, I'm Canadian
As a Canadian you’re also an honorary Brit until you say anything remotely American so I hereby knight you. Be careful with this power. Weapon is a wicked insult as is calling someone a tool, a wet wipe or a bellend.
The real test is calling someone a twat. When an American calls someone a twat they usually say ‘TWOT’ and that’s just about the worst thing I’ve ever heard. It has an A in it. TWAT. TW@. Come on. It has far more venom in it that way. The American way sounds like a posh vegetable
I'm not sure if I ever posted about it in here, but I actually... didn't really like Frail State of Mind for the longest time. I wasn't super big into it and had to force myself to kinda get into it, which is odd because I love it now and idk what I was thinking
FSOM def wasn’t the most immediate of the singles but once it clicked it immediately became one of my favorite songs by them
FSOM is pretty much exactly what I wanted from this album. M&YTS is what I didn't even know I needed.
I think M&YTS is the weakest so far imo. Just kinda run of the mill for me. Not as interesting as FSOM, People or TBS
When People dropped I was like "Yeah, please give me an album just full of this" but now after the variety in singles I think I want them to just throw everything at me
FSOM blows my mind every time I listen to it, it’s so understated in all of the wacky things that are going on
"Frail State of Mind" as a whole, lyrically, musically, & music-video-ly, is absolutely perfect to me & easily in my top tier of top tier of 1975 songs. Love it so very much.
I honestly don’t want to choose a least favorite of the singles lol. might honestly be People, if anything. even then I still realllllly hope there’s at least one other louder/heavier track like it on the record. Matty has such an incredible voice for heavy music that I never honestly would’ve expected prior to that song.
