they've exceeded at making something that sounds like a bad idea, work, so I guess more power to them here. Their hit to miss ratio is nuts.
Finally excited again because it seeeeems this is actually the FINAL FINAL release. I’m so fucking ready for the album. I’m bummed about them pushing back Too Shy but hey it’s them I should have expected it
I’m very excited to hear what they did with Jesus Christ 2005 God Bless America. Friday is gonna be fun.
The fact that y’all are getting another album so soon after the last one, and on top of that getting 22 new songs, yet people still are complaining is wild. Some artists (like my favorite artist Sufjan Stevens) take years off between albums and so the complaints truly baffle me. Also, on that note, my favorite album of all time is Illinois by Sufjan Stevens and it’s exactly 22 songs. So don’t judge a book before you read it.
I honestly adore the whole art direction of the final art. the cover by itself is maybe a little underwhelming, but taken together as a whole, the packaging looks lovely and understated. it’s a beautiful thing imo and makes me want the record just as an art piece. still love the OG cover, but I think this is the right approach, especially given they’re trying to be as environmentally friendly as possible. idk for me it just makes sense.
The back cover as the front cover would’ve suited me just fine but I’m totally cool with the new cover anyway.
I can always tell when people listen to like almost no hip-hop when they get shocked at a long album length
I don't mind the album cover. I think the back cover image could've worked as the album cover, though. I quite like it when albums include the track listing on the front cover
I like the original yellow cover best, but it is cool that they found a cover art style that is more aligned with ABI. The MFC “era” should mean something aesthetically.
I feel like it's a weird take for The 1975 since it's just pushed back a month and it's not like their singles so far have been dependant on what's currently popular or even a specific sound and I can't see the narrative of taste changing much in a month.
did they actually say that they delayed this because of the coronavirus? I kinda thought that they just needed the extra month to get everything done and the physical products manufactured
I just think it’s an interesting take on music as a whole and just included it in this thread cuz 1975 was mentioned
I think thats what's happened it just may look like a carona thing to someone who's not following the album cycle lol.
