ILIWYS, for me, represents such a specific time in my life... I had just moved to Florida shortly before it came out, beach town, and life seemed really good, like everything was finally coming together... but ehh, yeah, things change... Definitely brings back those newfound, positive, coastal/sunny, 80+ degree vibes though lol.
Hoping 2020 will be the year the recent drawn out pre-release album campaign trend ends. Not particularly directed at them, and I know I can just move on and listen to something else in the meantime, but it still sucks out most of the initial hype for me.
Was really hoping they changed up their release strategy for Notes. Think they're at the point where they could, they have enough "clout" now. That said, it doesn't seem like they're at 100% yet. The marketing materials and promos out so far have been less focused than usual, so who knows.
Was the more-than-two-and-a-half-year rollout for ABIIOR just as negative as the rollout for Notes is right now? I can’t remember, please help me
The ABIIOR rollout was more along the lines of 7 months. May to November 2018. We didn't have any official promo material, album name, song releases, etc. before then.
So, because we have those things you listed, that’s why people are so impatient? Because the time between ABIIOR’s release and now hasn’t been nearly as long as the time between it and ILIWYS
