It’s funny how their conceptual hook for the “era” has shifted into a pretty standard wait between albums. They’ve done an incredible job (mostly on the back of Matty’s interviews) maintaining interest on a consistent 16+ month campaign, but I’m not sure they needed the constant teasing.
Eh. At first it was just annoying cuz Jamie was saying all these unrealistic/bold things about Notes. Now that they’ve kinda simmered down on hyping up Notes I’m fine with it cooking. ABI is only 1 year old, and is a masterpiece.
For those that want to explore the artist Burial even more, he's put 17 tracks of his on his Bandcamp
Honestly quite pissed about this. Pre-ordered Notes and bought presale tickets for Glasgow thinking it would be one of the first shows following release. Jamie's now confirmed the UK tour is going ahead as planned and I'm almost certain the album's going to be delayed until after the tour. I've been to two ABIIOR shows in the past year and as great as they've been, I would have seriously considered skipping the next one if I thought it would end up being a similar set with only a few new songs thrown in. If I'm wrong and the album gets released on time I'll eat my words but right now I'm really disappointed.
sucks but shit happens. would rather have them focused and giving it their all than get a collection of half baked songs *cough kanye cough*
I'd be happy with the UK tour being delayed along with the rest of the dates and the album release to be honest, just so long as the tour comes after the album's been released.
Kinda pisses me off that people expect the 1975 to be at the forefront of politics now. Like yeah, Matty is very vocal about stuff but he isn’t required to comment on everything and it’d get real fucking annoying if he did surely? Stop looking for your favourite musicians to voice your opinions and do it yourself idk?? I’m drunk and will delete this soon anyway
im of two minds, i dont think any artist should be forced to talk about politics if they dont want to , but i think its totally fair to be annoyed when a band who has spent a lot of time associating them selves with world issues + making a difference/trying to care then suddenly goes quiet when things truly matter.
I always forget about time differences and thought you were drunk at 8am (the time here) no judgement tho I do that on vacation hahah
Matty doesn't have time for politics - he's gotta finish the album before he has to push off another tour
gonna guarantee you that The 1975 has done more to influence a younger generation of people across the world to be more politically, socially, and environmentally aware/active/whatever than Los Campesinos.
Politics around the world are becoming pretty fucked through the rise of authoritarianism. I keep trying to repeat this to my friends who don't understand who's happening on a global scale to note that this is not isolated to just the UK or US
