I remember 2012 interviews where he said nobody in the band would have a Twitter/insta/fb that they’d publicly post on cos back in the 70s/80s/90s bands didn’t - and that meant every band had this sense of mystery and they were this enigma. Said it was part of the excitement about following a band. Matty regularly brought up how social media felt disingenuous and a popularity contest, and that a lot of the times it was just updates on drivel nobody was interested in. Weirded him out. Was so outspoken about that and really talked down on other artists for it haha. Glad to see he changed his opinion but sometimes he could do with dialling it back a bit I guess. Times change

On an album with 22 songs absolutely I agree haha. It’s when bands with 10/11 songs release half the damn album and slap a load of filler instrumentals in the middle that I become frustrated haha.
