Of course, at times, I wanted to make [My Bloody Valentine’s]’ Loveless’ of course, or at times I wanted to make ‘OK Computer’ – there were all these types of things. [Coltrane’s] ‘Blue Train’. On this record you can hear that at times I want to make my ‘Nebraska’ [Bruce Springsteen’s sparsest album] or I want to make my ‘Immunity’ by John Hopkins. I’d like it to be a moment-in-time record like a ‘Nebraska’.” Read more at The 1975 Album of 2018 interview: Notes on an exceptional year Previously mentioned songs that don't match up with the tracklist: "Being Funny in a Foreign Language" (originally on leaked tracklist, now "Bagsy Not In Net") "It's More That I'm Bored Than I Actually Want To Kill Myself (Or Something)" TBD Song that's centered around a Shabba Ranks sample TBD Song that riffs on The Temptations "Just My Imagination" TBD Song written by Matty's dad (formerly called "You") TBD Song written for Matty's film German "Hiraeth"
Lmao ABIIOR is a phenomenal record and Notes will probably be more of that quality. This band is incredible. I honestly don’t even think we’ve seen the best from them yet
Would love for the end of "I Always Wanna Die (Sometimes)" to bleed into the intro of this next album.
i do hope this actually is the night bus 1975 record but also: they can do whatever they want and i'll be so happy
Yes. By far my favourite song/style. I have a feelin' i'm gonna like this one more. I don't know why.
I guess I'll be the first to say that I hope this record has a touch more upbeat and...dare I say...poppier songs. I'm loving ABI so far, but I'll always love the pop side of The 1975 MORE. Yes, I'm talking about the It's Not Livings, the TOOTIMES, the Sounds, and the This Must Be My Dreams of their catalogue. I just want a little bit more. I feel like most of my favorite records in 2018 have all been on the slower side, so hopefully 2019 brings some more uptempo numbers.
Wild subbing to a thread for the follow-up album to an album that comes out Friday. I love this band lol
No expectations on sound for this one for me. I’m interested to see what the themes will be on this one, to see how it differentiates itself from ABI
@Matt Chylak what are you doing with the dates in the thread titles, it's madness!!!! The 1975 - A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships (Nov 30 2018) • forum.chorus.fm https://forum.chorus.fm/threads/the-1975-notes-on-a-conditional-form-1-june-2019.45848 EDIT: I can't get the new one to display the title. My point was that this thread is day then month while the other is month then day.
I really hope they hit June because of how badly I want a full season & full album of late night windows down driving jams
I wanna give them the benefit of the doubt but I've been burned before...my money would be on around September.
