I think this is really why everyone is having the disagreement with you. You have a fundamentally different listening experience with this album than many other people.

Oh boy, I've hit a nerve. This is probably the third or fourth time I've expressed this opinion here, never got this much backlash haha

Look, if you like it as it is, awesome. I'm just saying I personally think it's overly long for no reason. I hope on their "Kid A" OR "The Queen Is Dead" they can reconcile their two vastly different viewpoints into something (that I find) more cohesive.

I need to sleep. Feel free to carry the fury through the night

It's not overly long, every second of the record counts. And there's a reason for it. The flow is perfect, the peaks and valleys are perfect, nothing is out of place and everything is situated exactly where it needs to be for maximum effect. Yeah it's longer than your average album but that doesn't mean it's too long, I have no problems sitting down with it and spending what, 70 minutes listening to it? That's not even the length of a movie. And I find this album more engaging than most movies I've seen (never been a big movie guy....too long ;) )

I've been on their subreddit too much, strange opinions flow freely there lol. I can understand why people don't like their instrumentals no matter how much I may disagree. Lostmyhead is too good though so I take back what I said, you crazy.

Lostmyhead is the only song/moment on the album I would change very slightly. Seeing them live completely changed that song for me.

I never thought I could love Lostmyhead more until I watched the 02 performance and they played it. Holy shit

I'll admit to being shocked by the length of the instrumental tracks and even the back to back stripped down tracks to close the album the first time I listened to this thing but it didn't turn me off. The album is extremely dense and deserves many front to back listens to get it. I equally love both of their records and I can't wait for LP3.

Also not sure if I missed anyone bringing attention to this, but Matty only alluded to OK Computer and queen is dead because those were third albums. So yeah, he's shooting high but with more purpose than just "our next album will be as good as these".

Got into this band from the singles and then went down the ambient ep track rabbit hole. Fallingforyou still gives me chills.

I love the ambient stuff on their EPs, but I don't think it works so well on I Like It When You Sleep. I'd take songs like "HNSCC", "Haunt // Bed" and "Fallingforyou" over any of the ambient stuff from the midsection of ILIWYS.

I'd take "fallingforyou" over anything on either album. It's fucking perfect.

I have nostalgia for the early ep stuff. That's when I got into them and I would listen to it on my 20 mile bike rides in the summer/fall
