It's a live album my dudes

  9. I would love a live album. Matty's vocals on Sex live are way better than in the studio. If it's mixed anything like that O2 show I'd probably listen over the studio versions.

Because of the picture, it looks like one of those things they use to frame television shots.

It's my AOTD (decade) rn if we're being honest. Meaning I haven't liked anything from 2010-forward more, expect maybe their debut.

channel ORANGE takes that title for me but after that it’s tough. This, MBDTF, and HLNPIT are all pretty close for me.

Am I the only one who thinks while amazing, MBDTF sounds really dated already? Was listening the other day and it really stuck out to me. Hip hop ages quickly and not often well imo

MBDTF still rocks my socks. I like it more now than I did in 2010.

In what way do you mean? If it’s lyrically speaking then, sure, it’s got some dodgy stuff that hasn’t aged well. Otherwise? Definitely disagree. I’ve been re-visiting his discography lately and it still stands out to me as his best work.

I think it's his best too, or Late Reg (though that one is really dated) I guess I mean it ages strangely, maybe because of how frequently the genre/Yes own style changes.

But as far as dated albums go, Dropout is near unlistenable for me. It reeks of early 2000s aesthetics. A good album, sure but maybe I'm too young for it

Yeah idk I love Dropout too, only one I’m not huge on is Graduation and that still has a lot of great moments. I don’t think he’s made anything that’s aged poorly, even if you can tell they’re older based on certain elements. I get a lot of enjoyment in viewing his albums as snapshots of not just his life, but also of where hip-hop/rap was at at the time. He’s been so consistently great at every turn.

I think graduation is really bad but the rest are good. Pablo is nice too aside from a few bad songs, same with Yeezus

How does everyone feel about “The Sound” never really taking off stateside?

As much as I adore that song I’m happy the band didn’t become known for that sound. Locally “Somebody Else” is still getting daily radio play on the alt station.

I feel like “The Sound” not taking off prevents the band fronted m being pigeonholed into one sound to get a hit.

"The Sound" is the only song I've heard on Top 40 stations and its play was pretty light. Our alt station mainly played "Somebody Else" and "A Change of Heart."
