The 1975 - I Like It When You Sleep, For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It (Feb 26, 2016) Album

This band just gives me that "something special" vibe.

 

I normally hate February, but the week this drops is going to be amazing. Springsteen show the Sunday before, Kacey Musgraves show that Thursday, and then this and a new record from Donovan Woods on Friday. Can't wait.

 

I feel like I should probably sign up to review this. Their last one is one of my favorite reviews I've written.

 

Target is offering an exclusive online pre-order for anyone interested that features an "autographed cover" (not sure if it's just printed or legit), along with two extra songs.

Just pre-ordered this. Haha I want as many bonus tracks as they offer. I always have to watch out for Target exclusives, before I decide to pre-order something from iTunes or elsewhere.

 

Album just came. Haven't been this excited for a first play in a long time.

 

Heh, very clever first track.

 

God damn, "A Change of Heart," is so good.

 

"If I Believe You" is a perfect encapsulation of why I love this band.

 

Haha jealous.. Will be curious to hear if the album as a whole has a consistent sound with the first few tracks that were released.

 

6 tracks in, sixth track is an over 6 minutes long epic. This is really good.

 

Wow. Haha looking like this may be an AOTY contender for you...

 

Was always probably gonna be in contention, but yeah, it's great.

 

The middle stretch of the album is so much slower than I was expecting. Atmospheric and a little weird, very moody. Totally unexpected in a really good way.

"Somebody Else" is something else.

 

There is no time the sax comes in that I don't smile.

 

Have you seen them live yet?

They're on my list to see. Hoping to see some more US tour dates this year that are closer.

 

Haha, the sax solo in "This Must be a Dream" made me think of you immediately.

 

Need to hear.

 

There is a near-100% correlation between songs having sax solos and me loving those songs.

 

Also, holy hell is that vinyl expensive.
