I'm sure no one knows for sure, but any predictions on when they'll be hitting the road again? I was hoping for a return to the US this year but not counting on it. I'll spin some ILIWYS today. Ugh and Love me are both underrated songs and I wish were on the last set list when I saw them. I caught them live at shaky knees in 2016 but I was less of a fan and would appreciate that setlist way more today.
Sounds like it’s gonna be a while based on recent interviews. This is the longest interval they’ve gone without releasing an album since they because the 1975 and it’s really bumming me out.
Rewatched O2 set for the big 1-0 for sleep and jesus christ a setlist that strong two albums deep is so impressive.
These songs are keeping me alive in between 1975 albums. I keep checking the credits for Matty Healy!
I still get a kick out of them doing Glastonbury last year, stating it would be this cultural moment, teasing DOGS and then absolutley nothing happened. I get playing Glastonbury last year as this is a fallow year but lol. They deserve to take as much time as they want, though.
Found the most incredible 1975 ripoff song by Cody Simpson (anyone remember him?!) but I actually love it haha.
Every time this thread bumps to the top of the music forum I get so excited, then click in here and am immediately sad
We must abolish the "here's a song that sounds like The 1975" posts until we get actual news, let's take collective ownership of this thread
I just realized I was in the wrong 1975 thread when someone posted the July 7th tag from years ago. I thought we were getting something for this album on July 7th until I read the thread and the dates. Damn. So no real news at all about when we'll get something new. I'm less concerned with new music and more itching for a tour date. I really thought they would have added themselves to a summer / fall fest or 2 by now.
Personally I’m glad this was posted, hadn’t heard this guy’s name in years and never would’ve checked this out otherwise, but it’s great. I think I might actually enjoy the B-side “When It Comes To Loving You” even more.
Yep which is crazy, because in my mind the wait from Notes to BFIAFL felt like a million years even though it was only two. I think the pandemic just fucked with my sense of time during that period
