Based on all the interviews he's given lately, Matty seems to just be in a really good place - he seems really excited for this new era, to perform live again.
I love how I’m In Love with You has that classic The 1975 chord progression. They keep going back to it from time to time
I haven't listened through the new one yet, but I'd argue Happiness is super earwormy despite not having a simple/conventional song structure. Each individual part has a lot of repetition in lyrics/melody, but the order in which those pieces are strung together is very un-pop-like. I'm breaking it into fairly small sections because of the way he mixes and matches sections, but I'd argue melodically the structure is something like: 45 second intro groove A ("She showed me what love is...") B ("My my my, oh...") A ("Her body's like a modern art...") C1 ("Feeling like I'm messing it up..." prechorus using the chorus melody) C2 (Chorus) D ("Met me at the right time") C2' (one-line chorus reprise over the verse groove) guitar solo sax solo A ("She showed me what love is...") C2 (Chorus) 75 second outro groove There's a couple of pieces there that only appear once (B and D), and the things I labeled C1 and C2' are fairly unconventional ways to use the chorus melody. It's incredibly catchy, but it's structured unlike any other song I can think of.
Full set *starts downloading via "4K Video Downloader"* Edit: Uploader on her Youtube said it's not full set; sounds like it ends at People, so last four songs not included ("I Always Wanna Die", "The Sound", "Sex", and "Give Yourself A Try")
cannot wait for October. holding off on singles after Part of the Band, but I know they’re about to drop a fantastic record.
I was supposed to see them summer 2020 for the first time and that obviously didn’t happened. Excited to finally see them this year.

My plan is to listen to singles as they release but not any leaks or live performances And probably only listen to the singles once or twice until the album
They played Tonight I Wish I was Your Boy and axed I Always Wanna Die, although both were on the printed setlist.
