Love both songs but POTB is my fav. The bridge and last chorus are beautiful. Also why do people like stirring the pot and starting shit lol?
This candidness extends to his songwriting. Healy is a hopeless oversharer who sings about love, sex, loss, and the ridiculousness of fame. He’s got a knack for pithy lyrics that sum up the cursed millennial condition: “Modernity has failed us” or “My generation wanna fuck Barack Obama.” On Being Funny, due this fall, he openly wonders, “Am I ironically woke? The butt of my joke?” and it might feel like he’s in grave danger of disappearing up his own ass. But he’s also his own harshest critic. Listening to a 1975 song can feel like being stuck between two Matty Healys, with one of them rolling their eyes at the other. Describing this internal push and pull to me, he says, “I know that I’m not as smart as I think I am.” i dont see how you can at least not acknowledge that hes extremely self aware which makes him quite endearing to me. he knows yall think hes insufferable, he thinks he is too, thats human to me. idunno. i just admire the fuck out of him for being open about his addiction and overcoming that, he's been a guiding light in my own journey of recovery ever since ILIWYS came out and i was in the throes of my own heroin addiction for the first time ever. he eventually overcame his and while im still trying to get a full grip on my shit seeing him this many years out and still killing it sober is just huge for me.
According to his Insta story, they're basically replacing Rage Against The Machine, who had to pull out
Somehow secured a ticket to the second boston date during regular sale, when i went back to check on tickets a few minutes later they were gone
struck out on a Mohegan floor ticket, i guess ill try stubhub the week of if i decide to go.. edit: nevermind, I got one as soon as I posted this lol
I am finally watching the videos and I somehow love Part of the Band even more. Top tier 1975 song, this; I might even like it more than anything on Notes, and I LOVE a lot of the songs on that one. I really need to preorder this album, and I also regret not trying to buy tickets this morning.
I am on such a big 1975 kick that I am considering trying once again to find a way to pull off wearing my box necklace. Part of the Band is officially one of my favorite songs by them. It will not leave my head and I am at risk of seriously overplaying it and I do not care. When we get closer to the tour, if anyone here with Boston tickets cannot make it, can you keep me in mind? I am looking for two tickets. Thank you!
Do you wear your necklaces outside your shirt or inside? I wear mine inside, so have no issue with how it may come across outside my shirt
Depends on your fit - I usually wear it on the outside but usually only when I wear more oversized shirts so it redirects the visual lines
So based on what they’re saying it sounds like the Japan show is still utilizing the live show set pieces from their last tour, but they’re removing all the color and it will be in black and white. Bleak, but cool.
She’s started talking about missin him, she was glistening… it won’t mend your heart if it’s only a couple of lines AND NOW SHES DOIN IT ALL THE TIME!!
