I went to a music festival in 2011 where Weezer and CAKE were the two headliners, true story. EDIT: sorry, Cake sub-headlined right before Weezer went on https://www.danapoint.org/home/showpublisheddocument/9390/635933373145530000
Not in love with the single still, but I love the concept behind the album after reading that Rolling Stone interview/story. Honestly found it inspiring. It really resonated with me.
Idk how anyone who likes this band could not like this song unless you are mostly a fan of the big pop songs, I was turned off and not excited about this due to Matty being Matty since the last release but this song aside from the lyrics being half good half wtf, instantly got me back on board
this doesnt sound anything like their other stuff really so that makes sense to me, liking other stuff and not this. even their softer stuff previously didnt go in this direction
Seems like this is going to be their “softest” record by far, primarily based on the fact that the interviewer said that Be My Mistake feels out of place in ABI but would be at home on BFiaFL
This is where I’m at. Probably their first single that I can recal not listening to ad nauseam before the album release. But maybe that’ll be a blessing and I’ll enjoy it a lot more when the record comes out
A hundred percent this. Really don’t even have the slightest desire to return to the song again. BUT the article did say there is a big, dark 80s track so I’ll get one!!!
I like this song a fair bit, but it's mainly because I love Matt Healy's absurdly verbose ramblings, so I can't imagine someone who doesn't already like Matty or his lyricism really loving this song, which makes it a bit of an odd single choice.
