Sort of out of the loop with the lead up to this album, but is this the Drive Like I Do album that was being recorded or is that something separate that's still coming?
got ya. It's interesting that they made this so soon after Notes since I remember them hinting at not putting out anything for a couple years after that album. stoked either way though
probably in the same situation as a lot of bands leading to this, like, 'so what we doing with the 18 months we were gonna spend touring Notes?' solution: tour on TWO records, kinda
After listening to this way too many times, I think this may be one of my favorite songs they’ve released. It hits every spot.
at least check out "How Dare You Want More" and "Stop Making This Hurt," despite the production issues the songs themselves are top tier Bleachers

new song is easily one of my least favourite songs by them after a few listens. hopefully it'll grow on me in context.
I think this band doesn’t really work for me anymore, unfortunately. I adored the first two records and thought A Brief Inquiry was cool but Notes was way too messy imo and I don’t like this new song whatsoever. I’ll check out the record but I don’t have super high hopes.
I feel like The 1975 will just never really allow themselves to have expectations. Like, the new single has me half-expecting to dislike the new record. But there's also a pretty good chance that even if I hate it, the next one will be completely different. I sort of adapted this mindset after Notes kept getting delayed and they were releasing really jarring singles. I just dug into it, took what I liked, and haven't paid much mind to the rest of it since. They (nor anyone else, for that matter) will never make an album I like as much as ILIWYS, so I'm not gonna bother expecting them to.
I liked the first two records but fell off with the 1975. However, I’m obsessed with the new single. Can’t stop listening to it.
Really liking the new song. Took a few listens but it's a cool left turn after Notes. Stoked to hear what else they cooked up.
honestly this is my favorite first single they’ve ever put out. obsessed with this direction and i think this will easily be my favorite 1975 record.
