Over time I’ve come to realise how much I love Notes as a whole and I would be livid if they cut anything
Spoken like a coder who likes patch notes: The simplest answer to me is that physical and digital products have fundamentally different properties, and the mutability of the latter can be both a positive and negative characteristic. So many musicians create up until the last second of a deadline, let it fly, and regret things; I think we should err on the side of the artist controlling how their work is presented in these spaces once they’ve had longer to live with it. (Bit of a different story when other factors or corporations weigh in… essentially, I’m comfortable with someone making the change for personal artistic reasons, not commercial ones.) There have been so many examples of streaming companies hitting us over the head with the idea that we’re out here renting, not buying, but the majority of the paying audience seems to not care. Luckily OG BFIAFL readily exists as a physical record, as opposed to your Star Wars example. I quite like how Bandcamp gives you digital files whenever you purchase a physical record from them.
So, I got a tiktok on my for you page this morning of someone meeting Matty at a university event and he just straight up confirmed that the album name is in fact DOGS and that they've recorded not one, but two albums. The interaction basically goes: Fan: "What is DOGS?" Matty: "It's the name of the album. Fan: "Really?" Matty: "Yeah! Simple as that. We made two. It might be one, it might be two. We don't know yet. We made two albums though" She also mentioned that he's performing in Newcastle in February. Their username is @gardensonggirl for anyone looking to see it for themselves.
I have trust issues when it comes to whether Matty will back up stuff like this he says but I choose to believe early spring new album
