Who cares, they can literally do whatever they want with their music, remove it all from streaming all together, whether they want. The song still exists if you want to listen to it
Because they probably liked it at the time? IDK. People's opinions on art they make change constantly. I'm a writer, and I can barely read anything I wrote even a year or two ago without wanting to rip it up and start over. I've never gone as far as to take anything down, but I get the impulse. Kinda off-topic, but this is an interesting contrast to what Hayley Williams is doing with her new album. She first puts it out as a jumbled collection of tracks and tells people to make their own playlists with them, then she picks an official order and adds Parachute to the track list, then Good Ol' Days a few weeks later, then another new song with the physical release. I have no problem with this release strategy for the record, but the album as it stands is most definitely not the way she first presented it. But because she's adding to the album, not subtracting from it like Matty, everyone's fine with it. I don't really have a larger point, it's just kinda interesting.
Human too is one of their weakest songs, it’s not bad, just boring and kills the pace of the album. WHAT SHOULD I SAY IS TOP TIER
It’s 2025 most people listen to music on streaming. Going back and removing songs you put out years ago is weird and lame. I shouldn’t have to track down a CD or vinyl when I don’t buy either anymore to hear a song that’s been released for 3+ years.
I just can’t picture myself ever caring enough to go back and remove a song years later after it’s come out, and it seems just so odd to me. If I hated it so much I’d just never play it live and let it rot or whatever but going thru all this trouble to remove it feels so weird and silly
I truthfully don't even remember what that song is, but going back and editing movies/albums/any piece of art after it's come out is whack behavior
I can literally delete an episode of TV from the internet, don't test me, I can go full Matty if you push
Don’t mind if he removes it from the album, but it should immediately be put in the singles section of whatever streaming service you use.
A reasonable explanation for removing songs I get is if they feature a problematic artist, like what happened with Lady Gaga’s Do What You Want, which featured R.Kelly. This though…
The one aspect of this that will irritate me far more than it should is that when I reupload those songs from my library to listen on my mobile device, I lose access to Apple Music Sing, which includes lyrics and removable vocals. That bums me out. Those features are exclusive to the version in AM's library.
