You could almost say sincerity is scary

 

Don’t feel like making a thread that probably won’t get traction, so The Wldlfe announced their new album is releasing on 8/16 and it’ll be their first release on vinyl. They rarely miss for me and these two new songs are great

 

Saw them live back in 2019; some pretty nice bops

 

Probably my favorite release by them, if anyone is unfamiliar with them and wants a good starting point.

 

I'm not saying this as a positive or negative, but this is the only band/album thread on this site where people consistently are posting other band's music. It's interesting.

 

That one could easily be posted in a Nightly thread and be a better RIYL (if recommendations were allowed in other threads)

The Nightly thread is dead even when their own stuff is posted.

But I’ve discovered a lot of bands from all of The 1975’s threads over the years, so I was just trying to do the same for others.

 

I have never and will never listen to a single one

 

at least it’s not people mad about things matty said ages ago or didn’t even say in the first place so I’ll take it

 

none of the rip off bands have the juice they do

 

Hotel Apache is the lone wolf but they drop one song every 3 years and I don’t even really think they’re doing a 1975 impression. Lead singer is also super talented.

You could just listen to music without measuring it against The 1975. Like no shit they’re better but most of the bands posted in here don’t even sound like they’re trying to be The 1975. Some weird ass logic in here to not check out other bands in the genre as if The 1975 doesn’t wear their inspirations on their sleeve too.

I would love to hear a band that sounds better than The 1975, because that band would have to be so good.

 

To be on topic, it’s crazy that Matty ended up dating and is now engaged to one of Charli’s best friends because last summer certain people kept claiming Charli hated Matty so there was problems between him and George. It’s almost like half that discourse was complete bullshit or something.
