Expecting a chalk:tame set list for the Portland show. TBH haven’t bought the tix yet. Gotta work out if I’m doing floor or not.
I mean it’d be different if they had a consistent setlist, but they add rare songs like 28 in some places or Paris, that they haven’t played in awhile, in others and then Philly always gets the most vanilla setlist of songs they’ve played a lot. Granted I’ve seen them over a dozen times, but our “special” song was freaking Chocolate lol
I’m not exactly asking for Antichrist here. I just really would’ve liked to get 28 considering they just played it the last two shows. Lol
Few days late but the Baltimore show was amazing, they've quickly become a band I'll see any time they come through
I mean, tickets for their shows are very expensive and they played 20 songs last night that they also played when I saw them last year. I just think it’d be cool if they shook their setlist up a bit more. Obviously, I expect a lot of songs from Being Funny and I expect the hits too, but, personally, I don’t feel like I need to see Chocolate or TOOTIME again. It’d be cool to see a deep cut from ILIWYS that isn’t A Change of Heart (which got a lot of run on their US tour last year). Playing Be My Mistake in the intermission again, which they did a lot last year, doesn’t feel fresh or unique. I think it’s easy to look at their setlists and understand why some people would like them to shake it up a bit.
There are so many people in that audience that’ve probably never seen them live before, and want to see Chocolate. Bands play the hits - they always have and always will. They’re never going to trade Chocolate for Ballad.
They didn’t have a problem trading Chocolate for many other songs since 2019! They can just as easily play many of their hits while also rotating in and out a handful of deep cuts. Both things can be true. It’s not impossible.
Also, just because there are people who haven’t seen them before doesn’t mean the band needs to tailor their setlist a certain way. They’ve shown for years that they don’t give a fuck about what songs fans want to hear. Last night, a fan had a sign that said “Play Girls” and Matty said “Fuck that song” and another person had a sign that said “It’s my birthday, please play Paris.” Matty considered for a moment, told everyone to shut the fuck up, and proceeded to play It’s Not Living
Would have very much preferred me and you over i like america and falling for you especially since we got them in camden last year…good show regardless but was really hoping for heart out as well. Feel like they should play somebody else before the sound as well although im just glad they put the sound back in. It still goes off live not sure why they ever took it off
Welp - I bit the bullet - for too much money hope it doesn’t suck at the garden - never seen a show there
Ultimately decided I can’t justify how expensive Boston resale is especially with most of the songs I’d never seen getting cut for the Philly date, hope it’s good though!
