Tricky line to walk in these more conservative countries. On one hand, good to push things forward as it pertains to equal rights. On the other, you kind of have to respect their customs in order to be invited back and open the door for other Western acts.
I agree but, then again, I'm not the one risking getting arrested in a conservative foreign country and then dealing with the consequences. Easy for us to say behind our keyboards in (relatively) liberal places.

For all my problems with Matty, this band has always been solid on LGBTQ+ rights and support. Some 'fans'.
So people actually think they did something wrong here? I don’t give a fuck about any country’s “customs” that involve the oppression of human rights.
Citizens might face arrest, but they're not going to arrest an English band. I think it's great that they've used their platform to make a statement that Malaysian citizens would struggle to make without facing horrific consequences.
