Would be cool if they planted the info to get everyone to stfu and are secretly making an album in private (as if anything Taylor does could ever be private )
what's the random tree illustration supposed to be teasing? edit: nvm missed this was mentioned earlier between the taylor talk
Yeah I’ve been blinded by the recent stuff with them at the studio and all this buzzfeed bs. Forgot about all that other stuff because of how crazy it’s been lately
Anyone who hasn't listened to the tape notes (might not be many with all the super fans in here), should do so immediately. These are absolutely fascinating. For anyone deep into the tape notes podcast, what other bands have a must listen session? (Indie / rock). The jungle one has caught my eye as has Royal blood (Hi, we're called royal blood and this how to write rock!) as does the King Gizard and Nothing but thieves. I'll probably do NBT next as I have gotten deep into their catalogue lately and think they're fantastic and the next kings of festival rock (move over muse) but open to recommendations for a particularly good / fascinating deep dive into song writing and recording.
I'm not sure that it's exactly what you're looking for, but I really liked listening to the Lucy Rose episode.
More on the song writing than the production part. How melodies were formed, how early demo's evolved into the final song etc. I found all that on the 1975 ones fascinating. I loved listening to the inspiration, the motif behind the feel of the song, and the evolution leading to the final product. Anything that goes into guitar types, tones, recording equipment etc probably won't be as much for me.
You might like the Switched on Pop podcast. It's well-produced and interesting. Very geeky stuff too.
Wow the Take Notes ep is fascinating. Had never heard of the podcast before so thanks for drawing my attention to it. It sounds like Matty gets consistently excited about the "b-sides" and alternate versions of songs they had floating around. He even mentions an aspiration to remaster a track. Makes me think we’re in store for more newness soon.
Per instagram, looks like 2023 tour dates vs end of 2022. Not surprised they'd want a break after everything this year. I still think my city will be skipped with them being here for a fall fest. Can't imagine they'd come back, even if it's 2023.
I hate to break it to you but we are already in the year of our Lorde 2023 so I assume you mean 2024 vs end of 2023 Time is a construct or something deep like that
I'm gonna leave this to immortalize my dumbassery but yea, I just assumed since they took time to note the year, that it was next year as if they didn't put a year, we'd assume this year. I don't know why my brain then went one stop further and wrote that I thought we were in 2022. Wait.. how old am I again?
Matty replaced Caroline as support act tonight. Looks like a cool setlist - I Just Don't Think I'll Ever Get Over You by Colin Hay. I need to hear that. Matty Healy offers literal blanket apology
Healy also clapped back at Noel Gallagher: "The difference between me and Noel is that I do a series of interviews to promote an album, whereas he does an album to promote a series of interviews." lol
