Random thought, but I feel like "I like America & America Likes Me" is seriously underrated.

Its a song I want to scream at the top of my lungs lately.

I have my expectations slightly under a very reasonable level. Haha

 

A friend of a friend is their saxophonist's sister (convoluted I know) but I don't see her enough or am close enough to get much scoop. Plus he still lives in London and she's in the US so I don't know how much they share and what she actually knows but I'll see if I can find anything out. I'm hoping she can also spill the beans on any tour plans, though the last few times they've come to the US, they have played bigger arenas than I typically like going to. Fests I love 2,000ish cap shows I love, but those amphitheaters and concert halls at the in between level I generally dislike.

 

One of my favorites by them. He uses autotune as an instrument and it works.

 

Stoked they're keeping the 1975 track tradition alive.

 

I'm going to have all 4 albums on heavy rotation for the next week. I also love listening to their Live show from the O2 Arena from 2017. They are so fucking good live!!!! I can't even handle it.

 

I think I'm up to five live shows for them at this point, with every single show being an absolute blast

 

I've only seen them twice, and both were amazing.

The first one, they fucking played Robbers and I cried/sang through the whole song like a child. It was perfect. That song just hits me in the feels even to this day.

 

The part where Matty and the crowd yell "EVERYBODY'S DEAAADDDD" at the top of their lungs - the best

I've been trying to get ABIIOR on vinyl for a while and just caved and bought a sealed copy on ebay for $28 total with shipping included. ILIWYS...I found a new copy at FYE for $50.00 which is just insane.

S/T I bought upon release and Notes I found at my local record store.

 

i bought ABIIOR on release day and i remember it being around $40. i guess the price went up maybe because there are fewer copies out there? i have no clue.

 

Unrelated to the 1975 but

I was into buying vinyl from 2010 - 2013 and then I just stopped for almost a decade. I started buying records again during the pandemic, invested in a good turntable and speakers, and now I'm trying to go back and buy everything I missed. It's fun/addicting and I love checking out local record stores whenever I'm out of town.
