I think Human Too might be my least favourite 1975 song. Oher than that this thing is all killer no filler for me. Fits perfectly in their fantastic discography.

Sleep is still my favourite, the self-titled is my least favourite and then this, the EP's, Notes and ABI are all around the same for me.

This is up there with self titled for me. The other ones feel way too long, but have good stuff on all of them.

I think this has overtaken everything as my favorite from them. True all killer, no filler album.

Human Too is the only song i’m not huge on and I still think it’s good.

    Got a light?

Yeah agreed with others, Human Too is kind of boring to me but every other song is very good. Definitely their most consistent/complete project, though I could probably condense a version of Notes I would like better (it’s getting close now, this one def could take over)

    As it should be.

I know I've said it several times, but I have this song playing in my head daily for no reason other than the fact that its fucking brilliant.

Death Touches Us, From the Moment we Begin to Love Supporter

From the moment I heard it, it just feels like a big warm hug wrapping around you. Sad, reflective, yet comforting. Definitely one of their best pieces IMO.

I don’t understand the “not as many highs” take I keep seeing. The 1975, happiness, looking for somebody to love, about you, oh Caroline, wintering, and when we are together are all likely in my top 20-30 tracks by them and a few are easy top 10’s

I don’t like critiquing things that I have no ability to do myself but I think my “harshest” judgment of the album is I don’t like the structure of the album. “All I Need to Hear” only being one song away from “Human Too” doesn’t make sense to me, I feel like they should be farther apart they’re too similar to me.

I don’t mind it as much here but I had this problem with the back half of a brief inquiry. album just sort of halts to a crawl for a while.

Successfully converted two people into fans of this band in the last month. Used the mini playlist below to hook 'em. Didn't know this was my new year's resolution but here we are.

    - It's Not Living
    - I'm in Love with You

A Brief Inquiry is still my favorite, but that came out on my 30th birthday and is forever associated with a very specific season of my life. I can already feel this new one fully settling into the uncontested second spot. It’s just… such a tight, consistent-but-not-same-y, often fantastic album.

Are you the evil me? (Or am I more likely the evil you?) We even live in the same general region, more or less; hopefully we never meet and create a reality-ending wormhole.

…though now that I think of it, I think it actually leaked on my birthday, putting a few days between us, so I guess we’re safe.

    11/25.

Was Brief Inquiry the one where someone documented their experience buying the CD early, and then buying a disk drive ‘cause they didn’t have one so they could leak it? Or was that Notes? That whole scenario replaced “Beggars by Thrice with the voiceover” as my favorite dumb album leak.

honestly this is a big part of why I don’t rate/rank ABIIOR is highly as some do. the back half may even have most of my favorite songs on the album, but the way they’re sequenced absolutely feels weirdly uneven and slows the momentum. and I also kinda ruined the front half for myself, sequencing-wise, by overplaying the singles months before the release (I realize this is my fault but still). by the time the album came out it was hard for me to feel like those songs were pieces of a whole, they just felt like singles thrown into a playlist to me.

it’s still an album I will never forget my first listen of, and I will always remember the time and place in my life, down to the way that winter felt. that’s all their albums since ILIWYS for me tho, really. they make strong impressions.
