This album helped me reconnect with the 1975. The last two albums had some incredible moments but maybe because they were so long or I wasn’t in the right place I sort of fell out of love with the band, but I’ve been listening to the discography basically nonstop the last week or two. One of the best bands, gotta say
It’s funny because ILIWYS is def their best album but not their most ambitious. The two following it were wayyyy more complex especially notes. ILIWYS when you think about it is simply an 80s worship album updated for an audience in the 2010s. Hardly unique for the decade.
My record came!!! The last vinyl I bought was notes and I just got a functioning turntable for Christmas which I haven’t had since 2018!!! So hypee
About You sounds unreal. This had to have had a completely separate mastering job for the vinyl release because it actually sounds like it’s supposed to unlike many modern albums which are just copied and pasted onto the vinyl format with no consideration of mastering for the medium
My vinyl copy skips at one point during Wintering and it makes me big sad. Sounds pretty good otherwise
the inherent downside of the medium. i have many records with skips and warps and playback issues and theres just nothing you can do about it for the most part. which is why i fell out of love with it for so long i got sick of things outside of my control impacting the playback quality.
Thankfully, most of my records play well so I might grab second copies of the ones with defects to see if I have any luck with other pressings, buuuuut records can also get pricey so idk.
The full MSG concert from November is on Amazon Prime Video now, and the full live album is an Amazon Music exclusive (doesn't seem like it will be on AM or Spotify). The video on Prime is a different edit from the livestream with a new sound mix!
