Sorry, I should have clarified that there is consent before it happens. Sorry for not including that earlier
If they have a short conversation about consent and the fan is literally asking for it, I'm not really sure what else there is to talk about from a performance standpoint. He needs to have the convo though, would be weird to randomly pull people on stage every night.
Love the 1975 but Matty’s always kinda icked me for some reason. The whole kissing fans on stage leaves a bad taste in my mouth even if consent is (thankfully) exchanged
Wouldn’t call it an abuse of power even if it was a band I didn’t like, what a fucking stretch lol by all accounts it seem like the fan is asked if they’re comfortable the entire way through. y’all will call anything abuse
yeah, for the record it's still weird and I wouldn't encourage it. The amount of women I know genuinely fantasizing about Matty kissing them at our show is uhh, disconcerting.
Dude is very clearly a showman at this point and I have zero problem with two consenting people kissing, especially if he goes out of his way to ask the fan multiple times if they’re comfortable with it
I am just trying to follow along with the meaning of abuse of power from others on this board....because by the standards ive read and why others have been criticized this fits right in..... what if the fan is only saying yes because they feel the power dynamic is unbalanced and so they feel pressured to say yes or how about if the fan is underage ? Are they checking IDs of these fans before they get on stage? I bet not
the fans are standing front row with their phone screens literally saying “MAKE OUT WITH ME”, they’re the ones asking
