Just wish any of these MSG videos were actually in good quality. The audio sounds absolutely miserable at times like in About You
it's supposedly gonna be uploaded to amazon prime later at some point -- assuming (hoping) that'll have better audio than these screen recorded videos of the stream
Finally listened to that Tape Notes episode and WOW. The original version of the opener is sick with the Bjork sample. Also learning my username is actually a George lyric, not Matty lmao.
Found out my friend I’m going to the show with got us floor tickets without telling me. I’m going to die.
So I sat on the couch and watched this last night. Fuck I wish I could go to another show on this tour. its so good.
Yea, I have put this on my tv and watched it already. I think it's pretty good sound and a great production and gave me a new appreciation for the show since I didn't get close enough to see all the set details. Also, no raw steak eating at my show unless I was too drunk and missed that. This was my first tour seeing them live, can't wait for whatever's next but they're so huge now they'll have to trot around the world before coming back to north America.
I'm still cheesed out that I went to the first show of the tour and got to see it all happen for the first time before anyone else. Uh and yeah, no raw meet was had at the CT show lol. I think this will be the only band for the next few years that I will fight someone for tickets lol. I think maybe I'd like to get floor tickets so I can safely dance my fucking ass off!
Felt like it was a lateral move of Its Not Living for the longest time, but the bass/synth goes off live
The more i go back and listen through their catalogue, the more i find songs i feel like they should have played, but every time i look at the setlist, i dont think theres anything id cut. Just part of the problem of seeing a band later in their career i suppose. Im sure if id have done each album tour, i wouldnt feel that way. This was only my 2nd time, and the first was a fest (post 'iliwys' so heavy on that).
I felt pretty similarly and often found myself chalking it up to them being five albums deep now, but they are also playing nearly the entire new album which seemingly not a lot of artists do. It was definitely awesome for this tour, but it makes me wonder what they’ll keep around moving forward. Also, they’re still playing a ton from A Brief Inquiry considering there have been nights where they’ve played half of that album. They did on my date. Looking back, I certainly would have rather had a couple Notes songs instead of TOOTIME and Be My Mistake. With all that being said, I’m still very happy with the setlist and it was easily my favorite show I’ve seen from them.
I am greatly looking forward to my first 1975 gig next Monday in LA. I know the general 'home' concept of the stage setup & some of Matty's onstage stuff but have mostly avoided videos and the big MSG live stream, hoping to really just experience it all in person first. Also hoping the show will convert my wife, who is being dragged along with me to the show haha
There is no way she won't love this band after this show. My boyfriend still can't shut up about it. Pretty sure he is in love with Matty.
