I also was floored by "Love It If We Made It". I feel like him "hating the song" made him almost overcompensate to make the live performance good and christ it was like he was possessed.
Yeah he did like half a rant that he cut himself off about how weird it feels to play now because it's not 2016 and he doesn't want to "go all woke on you" but "there's one guy..." and then he kinda trailed off and said "Just to be clear: we are an anti-fascist band. Obviously" and then realized they were actually about to play "I Always Wanna Die" and not "Love It If We Made It" Then they played it next and he said "I just kinda hate this song now. It's fine. Let's do it" (All paraphrased as best I can recall.)
Yeah he wasn’t being entirely coherent, he was rambling a lot (made more confusing by him getting the set order mixed up), but he definitely said he doesn’t like it. Agree he went hard on that song though. The end of The Sound (one two fucking jump) was also pretty much a religious experience. I’ve seen videos before and always thought it looked insane, but in person it was even better than I expected
Listening to Notes now - I really do just want a house/electronica record from them. I love all that shit from them.
