Y’all are gona be disappointed if you’re expecting anything but a single on June 1st

Single on the 1st, for sure. No album.

 

I can't think of any countdown that was for so long just to lead to a single though. That seems super underwhelming to me.

I can’t see a month long countdown for a single. But I also can’t see them rushing the album just to get it out on June 1st.
“Patiently” waiting and will be happy with whatever we get :)

 

I still think it’s an album, but to be fair they went almost 4 months last time when they made the switch in eras before Love Me came out. Then again, there wasn’t a countdown last time. Whatever my brain hurts time for Donkey Kong.

Probably a single, but knowing this band- it is supposed to be an ushering in of the new era. Thus why a countdown would be warranted.

I think that regardless of whether it's a single or an album, we're not gonna know until that countdown hits 0

 

Countdown to new era is my guess, but new era is going to mean something very big. Maybe a livestreamed performance when it hits 0? Would be very wild.

It would be. I can’t think of much from a or/hype standpoint that would foster bad will between fans and a band than that. It would legit make me, a huge fan, roll my eyes and think less of the band for something that dumb. A month lead up to an announcement and song? That’s just ... blah. Don’t do that to fans.

 

Agreed. That will definitely be frustrating if it's really just a month long countdown to a single.

There's no indication Jamie is even talking about The '75 in that tweet that says the album isn't finished. He just said "Studio", someone asked for an update, and he said it's getting close to getting finished and is their best work yet. That could be true of a lot of other Dirty Hit artists that he manages. Not to mention Jamie is often misleading.

 

There's literally only one band that Jamie could be talking about so anonymously. It would be ridiculous to assume he's talking about Pale Waves or Wolf Alice or whoever.

 

He makes annoying cryptic tweets all the time imo.

I think it's more likely that the single's out this Friday and the album announce/art reveal is on June 1.
