Maybe June 1st is the What A Shame EP? Would actually make sense, given the generally shameful feeling with regard to this whole teasing thing.

Or, maybe they're literally just counting down to June 1st. You know, since they're fucking OBSESSED with June 1st. Either way, I'm playing a show the next day and will probably talk sarcastically about it between songs.

The 1975 is the type of band to tease literally everything. One day they're gonna break up and they'll start posting cryptic photos like 9 months in advance.

 

June 1st is a snippet of a single, What A Shame EP at the end of the year, Music for Cars in 2020

 

I was driving around Portland yesterday with my windows down and The 1975 all the way up, and a girl walked through the crosswalk in front of me in a The 1975 tank top. Not really relevant to anything, just thought it was funny because I don't think I've ever seen anyone in their merch outside of a show.

 

They want you going to their site so the pixel picks you up and we can retarget you for merch ads.

 

Releasing an EP with this campaign would make sense, especially if it's called What a Shame.... except they had the MFC poster. So wtf

Erm. Well. I was trying not to be hyped. Jamie usually hypes things up that 99% of the time end up changing or being delayed. But I can’t help it haha. I was really hoping this would be an album countdown. It would be perfect, on June 1st. But like with the last album, June 1st was the start of another ad campaign for them. Hoping this isn’t the case now. This has been such a long time coming.

 

Well the new ad campaign/era has already started so it’s definitely not a countdown to that

 

Someone just needs to make a playlist of remixes, covers, albums, b-sides, eps and fulfil my 1975 needs.

 

The third of the zip file photos was just posted. One more to go likely on Sunday. Single on Monday? Who knows at this point haha.

The album could technically not be fully finished yet and still come out on June 1st. Vinyl would be the only thing that would be delayed.

Me listening to the live from the 02 for the millionth time and appreciating the iliwys era aesthetic

 

I swear that live show is one of the best live albums over ever had the pleasure of listening to and one of the best live shows I've ever been to.

 

So I really think a single is coming this upcoming week but am at a loss for what June 1st if the album isn't done yet, unless they do digital only release and vinyl pre orders that same day?

 

I would put money on them being at the mixing or mastering stage right now so I do think the album will be done in time
