4/27 and 6/1 are both Fridays. Hip hip hooorayyyyyy

 

I was thinking that too. April for the EP and June for the album. However, that is pretty close timing to one another.

Listened to ILIWYS for the first time in a while today. Felt good to revisit. I played the shit outta that album when it came out haha. Ready for new stuff nowwwwww

 

Played it a few nights ago and Somebody Else was perfect on a night drive through the fog with nothing but streetlights visible

 

Hmm. in any event unless the EP comes out this month, they'll be relatively close (whether album is april or ep is april and album is June). Either way I can't fucking wait

Calling it - there will not be an EP. They ran out of time and just focusing on Music For Cars.

Idk what to think about that Guardian article. Like, we have a tweet directly from Matty saying June 1 with a screenshot showing an (nice) album-length runtime. And who knows when that blurb in the Guardian was even researched/written? Could've been an earlier date they were toying with before settling on 6/1, or it could just be a typo/mistake. Certainly quite the conundrum. I guess I'm going to try not to let myself get too hyped up for any date until we hear something official from them.

 

Possibly denying the April 27 date in the article? "Don't Believe the Hype"

I wouldn’t describe this band as being “open” but rather constantly misleading. They’re masters at this point of saying they’re going to do something then not doing it. I wish they’d stop teasing and hyping, and just not say anything until it’s done. There’s nothing wrong with things changing course but I could certainly do without getting my hopes up.

 

when have they not done something though? they're a band that you've known since the middle of last year were putting out an album in 2018 called music for cars. and you knew for sure that was actually happening too

Just off the top of my head... several songs Matty said they would play on the fall 2016 tour that they never did (Haunt//Bed, Antichrist). They said they were putting out a Christmas song last year. They said they would “definitely” play ILIWYS in full at least once. And now, they said they would have put an EP out by the end of 2017.
