giving ILWYS a full play through for the first time in a bit since I’ve only been listening to the new singles when I listen to them as of late.


I doubt I’ll ever love another song the way I love Paris.

I've managed to not listen to any of the new songs (or old for that matter) since Oct 30. I'm going to be preeeeeeetty hyped come Nov 30!

 

I think this album is going to easily top the last one for me, but Paris is an absolute masterpiece.

 

I’ve been more attached to this new batch of songs then the last cycle, but yes we are all in agreement Paris is champion.

 

ILIWYS also got me through a rough time and ya Paris really is the best song theyve written and my personal fav as of right now but hey we got a new album coming and then another one after that so things may change but yeah this band is in a league of their own and im so happy for them and im so thankful that theyve helped a lot of you

 

If this album dethrones my all-time favorite album, I will be so shocked and happy.

I really, really want my first listen of this to be on vinyl with wine and a joint. But knowing my luck my preorder will show up like a week late and i’ll have to spotify this thing.

Idk how I’m gonna get through a 12-8 the day this comes out. I’m off the next day though so hopefully I can stay up with a bottle of wine and this album

 

I fully expect a wine listening party here for those that enjoy the stuff.

 

Would love to hear this around Thanksgiving because I have a lot of long drives, but it doesn’t seem likely.

 

I just bought the vinyl and a shirt because I’m pretty sure this is going to be one of my favorite albums ever.

 

Side question for all you 1975 lovers....

I love the song 'Love Me' - I think it showcases both the heights of their restraint and letting a song breathe, but also it also lets Healy off the leash more than maybe any other song of theirs.
The thing that really really bothers me is the "alien" synth during intro/ending of the song (see 0:16 for what I mean). Does this tone/melody drive anyone else mad or is it just me?

I actually learned to love Love Me - I definitely feel that it does allow the song to breathe if you will. As much as I like the new tunes, I wish some of the new tracks had that energy and funky side to them.
