This may not be at the same quality as season 2 but I still enjoy the heck out of it. You guys are too critical. It is the CW.

Yeah, I'm loving this show as much as I ever have. This season is still way better than season one.

the cw has consistently proven over the last few years that it is more than capable of churning out high quality tv, like the second season of this show. this season has been kind of a disaster in a number of ways, which isn't being too critical, it's paying attention.

I know Jaha will "return to normal" once Ally is defeated... but it would do a lot for my peace of mind if he died in this process.

The Luna plot was essentially pointless...not surprising given the quality of this season thus far.

I'm pretty disappointed about it, I thought Luna was really interesting. Especially with them revealing that she fled the conclave because she knew she would have beaten all of the other Nightbloods.

She's still the only one who can take Ally 2, so we don't know this entirely for sure just yet. But I am leaning towards agreeing with you.

Similarly, do you think one of Raven/Clarke/Octavia will end up taking Ally 2?

They did the exact same thing with Ice Queen Nia earlier in the season by introducing her and then almost immediately taking her out of the equation. I would be very surprised if Luna shows up again.

I guess so, at this point what else are they going to do? The question is how and I have no idea what they could do to make it possible since it would kill one of them if they tried to take it.

It looks like next week they're joining up with the new Ice King, so (hopefully) that'll strengthen that, but good point.

I know part of the lore is that the blood is a certain type of radiated, right? The 100 all have radiated blood by living in space (established in season one or two), so maybe that'll be the loophole?

i think the nightbloods are still different because the grounders should all be immune to the radiation for the most part at this point otherwise they'd be dead or mutated.

Well the nightblood stems from Becca creating a substance that changed her genetics after she injected herself with it. That turned her blood black and enabled her to put A.L.I.E. 2.0 in her neck without it killing her. She then went to earth and spread the nightblood in a way we are not yet aware of. Whether she reproduced with someone on the ground and that carried the DNA forward or she chose specific people to inject the substance into, either way Becca is the creator of the nightblood.

Edit: This also leads me to believe that, if someone knew how to do it, that substance could be recreated and injected into someone else thereby creating a new nightblood. My assumption, based on rumors implying that we will see Lexa again at the end of the season presumably thanks to A.L.I.E. 2.0 preserving the spirits of previous commanders in her own City of Light, is that the person who would inject themselves and become the new Heda is Clarke. Makes sense as it would be an emotional payoff for her to see Lexa one more time.

  12. Caught up with this after falling behind a couple weeks. Blows my mind people think this season is better than the first. Back half of season one is exceptional. I still think this season has been okay-to-good despite the messiness, but most of the first season and all of the second are top tier in this age of television.

(ESL) this show took a terrible turn this season. the pike/bellamy storyline in the first half of the season was absolutely disgusting, the mass murderer of 300 grounders sent there to protect them and after that trying to kill the grounders of a village solely for the land had me cringing, especially because they were redeemed? like seriously? let's punch them a few times and it's all finnne? lexa's death was also horrible, as someone "in" the fandom, i followed the writers and the showrunner on twitter+tumblr and there was so much queerbaiting, they were constantly reassuring fans the lgbt community would get what they wanted (clexa) and just to kill lexa by a stray bullet 2 minutes later after she had sex (buffy much?)..clarke's treatment by her own friends is so disgusting, she's done so many things for them and she is constantly shat on. the CoL storyline...im not even gonna comment. anyways, i could go on but i wont, this is long enough as it is

Definitely not the first time the CW has had slip ups in their third seasons of some series. Hopefully Flash and iZombie won't suffer from that.

  16. All I want is for the first few episodes of next season to be whatever survivors there are just hanging out and getting to enjoy each other before everything inevitably goes to hell yet again.

I've had a few beers so sorry if this is a little ramblely:
    - Having them decide to go back to use Ontari proves my point that the Luna plot was completely unnecessary and it was just them wasting time.
    - They're obviously trying to lay down hints for Bellarke to happen and it's so dumb when Clarke hasn't been able to actually mourn Lexa's death. Someone on tumblr made a good point that she hasn't let herself break down because she is still holding out hope that she will be able to see Lexa again.
    - Tonight's episode and the season in general has been excessively violent, like there has been tons of stuff that needlessly happened. It's like they're just trying to be Game of Thrones.
    - Roan shows up after being absent for a big chunk of the season just to save Clarke and then almost immediately dies. This type of thing has happened multiple times this season (e.g. Gina and Shay from last week)
    - Harper getting knocked out by Jasper when the last time we saw her was with Monty. (That whole thing was so dumb, too. That was never even hinted at.)

I just got finished watching Orphan Black so it was kind of hard to remember it all haha.

  20. Can't argue with any of that (except maybe the violence part. While I agree it's been excessive this season, I'm not so sure I wouldn't deem the violence of the first two seasons the same)

I was convinced for a second that Bellamy was donezo when the Alie-bots were gonna bring him in to torture/kill in front of Clarke. Really hope a Clarke/Bellamy thing doesn't happen like pretty much ever.

Not all of it has been excessive but some things have been, especially for a network show. Nailing Kane to the cross was just unnecessary. Also, I thought the Raven self-harm thing was over the line. They need to realize that with them having a huge teen audience that some stuff like that can be very triggering. I felt the need to warn someone about that even though I didn't even know if that would be something that would bother them.

They're really pushing the boundaries with what they can show since ALIE is basically torturing people to get them to take the chips. I just feel like the violence this season has been less justified than it has been in the previous two seasons.

  22. Kane and Raven were definitely the worst instances this season. The crucifiction was awful but worse for me it was just so stupid and way too on the nose. Raven self-harm was just plain horrid.

This season has been pretty messy but I've still really enjoyed it. Definitely agree that it got a bit too violent in some instances (esp. Kane's crucifixion). The episode showing Alie/Becca's backstory was a highlight for me.
