Not to keep spamming, but this is some stuff that's happened since the episode aired that I find interesting:

-Cast members have been tweeting low key hints that something shady is going on behind the scenes. Apparently Devon Bostick's been posting a lot on Twitter and then deleting it (still trying to find screen caps) and then there's the stuff I mentioned in an earlier post about Lindsay Morgan's tweet and the Ricky Whittle situation.

-Within about a day of the episode airing on the east coast, Jason Rothenberg lost 11% of his followers on Twitter and is still steadily losing followers (he's at 107k now)

-Javier Grillo-Marxuach (writer) was asked on Tumblr if the writers were aware of the Bury Your Gays trope and if they were concerned about it while writing and responded with this:
I also found this article/essay (not sure which it technically is) on femslash fandom and the reaction to Lexa's death that I think does a good job of explaining the issues at hand. Not posting it on AP because I'm officially done trying to talk about this show ever again in that thread, so if anyone in here wants to they're more than welcome to share it there as well. I think it's a really good read for anyone who's not understanding why the LGTBQA+ community is so upset about this and why it's a political issue and holds a lot of weight.

That's a shocking number of shows.

And yes, I think the denial of happiness is absolutely a terrible precedent. In a lot of ways, it seems very similar to seeing how depression/suicide is handled on television when a character succumbs instead of being rallied around and lifted out by their friends (though I've discovered some really good indie movies that show this response to depression and suicide lately and that's helped so much for me).

I'd agree with that, for sure. I get that characters shouldn't be saved because of their sexuality, but at some point you have to see the bigger picture. I don't think this particular case would've been so upsetting if it didn't happen immediately after they had sex. If we had had some time to breathe, I think it would've gone over a lot differently.

This is another good article I read regarding this situation. This video is also filled with statistics as to LGBTQA+ representation (mostly the lack of) that I think helps put a lot of the anger about Lexa's death into perspective.

Also, two writers trying to do damage control by doing a Periscope accidentally made things worse and said that Alicia, her agent, and AMC were all onboard for her returning to the show for season 4. Take that as you will.

Really interested in where tonight's episode goes from where that last one ended. It just dawned on me it's Thursday and I got really excited.

I heard that Clarke isn't in tonight's episode and it's solely focused on Arkadia similar to how last was completely Polis. Pretty bold move to have a Clarke-less episode

Pike can go fuck himself. I miss the old Bellamy... hope he's finally coming back.

An episode without Clarke or Octavia made me care so much less for the majority of it, but when it finally hit, damn I was right back in. If these episodes weren't filmed so far in advance, you'd almost think the gay, interracial kiss scene was damage control and stuck in at the last second. But it was also one really good humanizing, conflict moment that this show usually does incredibly well.

DirecTV has been having issues lately around here with the local feeds, so I missed from 9:43 to 9:49. Looks like quite a bit happened in that time frame, too.

Tonight's episode was pretty good considering it was all Arkadia stuff. Glad Bellamy has had enough of Pike but like killing hundreds of people wasn't enough before this?

So happy that Raven was able to defy ALIE, I really hope Jaha doesn't get to her.

Haven't watched last night's episode. I'll probably do it this weekend. Not surprised they got a season 4 at all

I've heard great things about this. I think I may start it tomorrow if it's on Netflix. It looks like Henry Ian Cusick is in it, so that's a major + as a Lost fan.

Get through the first four episodes before you begin to foster opinions.

Few quick observations after 1 episode:

-There's a guy in the show named Finn, but not the one who looks just like Finn from TFA.

-Jasper reminds me of Kenny Fisher from Can't Hardly Wait

-I'd hate to have the name Bob Morley

This past episode hit season lows ratings-wise. However, Legends of Tomorrow also hit a season low and it seems most network shows also dropped from the previous week or stayed even. I'll be interested to see if this trend continues for them or if it was just an off night for all of tv.

Some of the people who wanted the show cancelled after last week are trying to make more of it than it is by pointing out it was the lowest rated show of the night and in its time slot but I'm pretty sure that's the case every week so that part is nothing new lol.

I didn't realize how grating this Arkadia plot is until they gave it its own episode. I really can't believe Ricky Whittle/Lincoln is being given practically nothing to do in this arc

Yeah, I thought the episode was fine but I'm over Pike. It'll be interesting to see how it changes whenever Clarke comes back into the fold there. Also, how and the hell was Abby not in that episode at all?

Even though they weren't in the preview for the next episode, Polis will have a strong presence. Some stills were released it looks like they're having a ceremony for Lexa :(....also Roan and Ontari will be back.

Also there was a lot of really awful shit that came out about what goes on on that set from a cast appearance in London yesterday and holy shit.

Jarod Joseph (Miller) said that in season 1 Jason had him wear a beanie so that "the audience could tell him and Lincoln apart"

And yeah where the fuck was Abby this episode

According to Vulture, The 100 is tied for the highest percentage increase in ratings from last year to this year with 11%. It's also only one of 7 network programs to have a positive change from last year.

Too bad Rothenberg had to go fuck it up with 307.

I think it'll be really interesting to see how those numbers change during season 4. The fans are really gaining traction and attention with this. BBC, HuffPost, Variety, and Vulture have all written pieces and the fans have raised over $30,000 for The Trevor Project. Thoughts on the death aside, this is really amazing and interesting to watch unfold.

  21. My thread was better!

(haven't read the last several posts cus I still need to watch last week's episode, but I'm glad I could catch up with a bunch of good and important stuff from Eva that I was missing out on in old ass ap)

Despite my being very angry with this show (they're slacking with their treatment of minority characters) it is a great show. The first handful of episodes are a little rough, but season 2 is easily one of my favorite seasons of television.

  25. @iplaydrums looking at your fantastic avatar, have you been watching Legends? I've been pleasantly surprised so far. Thought it was going to probably be a mediocre and convoluted mess but it's been pretty fun and charming. Of course Sara's been a bright spot and had some really nice moments in last week's episode.
